The National Genomic Test Directory specifies which genomic tests are commissioned by the NHS in England, the technology by which they are available, and the patients who will be eligible to access to a test. Split into two separate documents – for rare disease and for cancer – it currently takes the form of downloadable excel sheets.
The cancer directory is split into six tabs; explanatory notes, solid tumours, neurological tumours, sarcoma, haematological and paediatric. To locate a specific test, visit the relevant tab before searching. The rare disease directory is split into two tabs; explanatory notes and R&ID indications. There is a separate excel sheet for rare and inherited disease eligibility criteria.
The test directory is updated at least once a year, through a formal process outlined here. We will keep you updated of changes to the test directory as and when they are published.
