Dr Vidya works as a Consultant Oncoplastic Breast Surgeon at Royal Wolverhampton NHS trust and (Hon) Senior lecturer at Birmingham University. She has served as Associate Director Genomics at the CAS GMSA since July 2021. This post involves over seeing implementation of transformation projects to improve the clinical pathway for assessment of familial risk from primary to specialist care in areas serving deprived communities. She is actively working on projects including chemoprevention, risk stratification and reducing inequality in access to familial cancer specialist services. She leads the project on looking at the role of whole genomic sequencing in triple negative breast cancer. Dr Vidya is a faculty in several national and international meetings and has more than 150 peer-reviewed publications. She has published two books on breast reconstruction, an ebook on global breast training in collaboration with Royal College of Surgeons, England and contributed to several book chapters Through her role as Royal College International Surgical Training Programme Lead for Breast Surgery, she is committed to advancing breast training.
