We’re looking for volunteers who are fluent in a language other than English, who would be willing to be filmed reading a short script about the Generation Study.
The video will give basic information about the study, repeated in different languages, and signpost families to further information. This will be used in various forums, such as: antenatal clinics at participating hospitals, groups where pregnant women and their families may meet, and social media.
We hope this will raise awareness of the study amongst diverse communities particularly where there are high rates of non-English speakers or challenges with literacy. Ultimately, we believe this will increase accessibility which may help to increase recruitment.
This is part of ongoing work in the Central and South region, to engage with communities, improve access to research and raise awareness of genomics in general.
We’re focused on the languages in which Genomics England offers Generation Study materials; please click here to see these.
If you speak one of these languages fluently and would like to get involved, click below to let us know!
