Genomic Tumour Advisory Boards (GTABs) are multi-disciplinary meetings which  review, analyse and interpret results from complex genomic testing of tissue and/or blood samples from patients with cancer. These meeting were originated in 2017 to review and validate whole genome sequencing results from the national 100,000 Genomes Project. Over the last eight years their role has evolved to provide clinicians with interpretations of standard of care genomic testing including WGS, large panel testing of tissue samples, and cell free DNA (liquid biopsy) tests as well as genomic testing performed within selected clinical trials.

Each GTAB is attended by a team of scientists and clinicians with genomic expertise, including oncologists, geneticists, cellular pathologists, clinical scientists and genomic practitioners. They provide clinical teams and site specific Multi Disciplinary Teams (MDTs) with interpretation of genomic tests, and, where appropriate, suggest possible clinical consequence.

There are three regional GTABs within the Central and South Genomic Medicine Service. To refer your patient for discussion at a GTAB please use the contact details for your regional GTAB.

Wessex GTAB

The Wessex GTAB meets virtually every Friday from 11:00-12:00. To refer a patient for discussion please contact: [email protected]

You will be provided with a referral form that you will be required to complete and submit prior to the GTAB discussion.

 Oxford GTAB

Oxford hosts specialist GTABs to discuss WGS data for specialist tumour groups. Monthly GTABS are held for CNS, sarcoma and childhood tumours. Please contact [email protected] for more information and to make a referral.

West Midlands GTAB

The WM GTAB takes place on alternate Thursday afternoons (14:00-16:00) on Microsoft Teams. Please contact [email protected] for more information and to make a referral.
