Cancer is affected by our genetics in many different ways. Multiple cancers can be influenced by our genes and the effectiveness of cancer treatment can vary according to our DNA.

Within primary care, healthcare professionals will encounter many patients with a family history of cancer – and it’s important to know when, how and why to test for certain inherited cancers and predispositions. Central and South Genomics and West Midlands Cancer Alliance are hosting two webinars on BRCA1 and 2, targeted to primary care professionals, to help boost knowledge and address any queries you may have.

Attendees can expect to hear about the following:

  • Genomics of BRCA 1 and 2
  • The importance of family history
  • Breast, ovarian, prostate and pancreatic cancer
  • When to refer a family or patient to clinical genetics
  • Ordering a test – using the test directory, HPO terms, the sample
  • Jargon free genomics and ethics
  • Managing BRCA 1 and 2
  • Reproductive choices

We are hosting this webinar twice, on two separate dates, to increase accessibility for attendees. Please note, the material will be the same across both webinars so you only need to register for one date.
