Wessex Cancer Alliance and Central & South Genomics are pleased to offer a series of Genomics in Primary Care Education Events in Autumn 2026.

With advances in medicine, genomics is expanding. From newborn tests through to direct to consumer testing, pharmacogenomics, personalised treatments and cancer risk reduction, more and more appointments feature genomic medicine.

These face-to-face education events will be delivered by Primary Care and Clinical Genetics experts, supported by patients with lived experience of genomic testing and treatment.

The agenda will include:

  • Fundamentals of genomics
  • Cancer genomics (BRCA, Lynch diagnosis and management)
  • Polygenic risk scores
  • Generation Study
  • Familia and hereditary conditions
  • Pharmacogenetics

The education events are open to anyone within primary care: trainee GPs, practice nurses, nurse practitioners, in-house pharmacists and GPs, with the aim of upskilling, information sharing and improving the care offered to patients.

These events are taking place across multiple locations; click the links below to register.
