Tony served in the Armed Forces for 35 years, benefiting from a wide variety of appointments before becoming a lecturer in systems engineering at Cranfield University, where he is a visiting fellow.
He is presently Chair of Behçet’s UK, a member of Genetic Alliance UK Patient Empowerment Group, Beacon Patient Group Engagement Committee and National Voices Heads of Policy group. In addition, Tony is a member of APM Systems Thinking Special Interest Group, the BSI IST/015 Software and systems engineering committee, a fellow of Chartered Management Institute, the Institute of Leadership and an Associate Member of the Royal Society of Medicine, Royal College of GPs, British Society for Rheumatology, and a STEM Ambassador. He is proud to be chair of Central and South Genomics Patient and Public Involvement Panel, whose principal aim is to reach into those communities that historically have not been equitably served in genomic medicine.
